In July is opened a mythical-historical path "Trebisca-Perun" which was inspired by recent scientific research in the area around the top of Perun, which has shown that these slopes of Učka were of special importance for the first Slavic immigrants on the Adriatic coast.
Through 13 info tables and with 15 monumental clay and stone tablets with the lyrics from Slavic folklore, the course will introduce you to who are actually Slavs, which today we know, about where and why they came to this area and what were the beliefs by which they arranged life of their community. You will be exposed to an exciting detective story about how the traces of the ancient past have survived millennium restless history to date, piece by piece, into what we know about this sacred space. Route paths whose length is 13 km, was conceived as a full day hike in the duration of 7h with its beginning and end of Moscenicka Draga. It passes through the untouched nature and the unspoilt village Potoska Draga, trough canyons and climbs to the plateau Petrebisca, and then on top of Perun (880 m). It will, besides historical and mythical dimensions of the area, show the natural beauty of local landscapes and the traditional life of the people of this region.

Two members of the all-female Croatian climbing team, sisters Darija and Iris Bostjancic from , on Tuesday conquered Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. They displayed a Croatian flag on the world's highest peak at 0940 hrs local time in Nepal.
Darija and Iris Bostjancic are the first sisters to scale this height together.
The Bostjancic sisters and Vedrana Simicevic (all from Rijeka) conquered the world's sixth highest peak, Cho Oyu, on 2 October 2007.
Cho Oyu is 8,201 metres high, and the three alpinists were the first Croatian women to scale a height of over 8,000 metres. It was the first time two sisters stood on this peak at the same time.
The sisters Bostjancic and Simicevic were members of the first all-female Croatian climbing team. Cho Oyu, whose name in Tibetan means "turquoise goddess", is situated in the Himalayas on the border between Tibet and Nepal, about 35 kilometres west of Mount Everest.

In the pilot project, which starts on Friday, April 24th, RIjeka's night buses will run on Fridays and Saturdays until the end of summer from midnight to 5:00 am. The three new lines will start from the center of the Rijeka - the bus stop at the Square of the Republic of Croatia, popularly known as "Slavica" every 30 to 45 minutes. That line 101 will cover the area of Trsat, Marčeljeva Draga, Bivio and Kantrida, while the line 102 covers a wider area and will drive from the city center through the streets of Nikola Tesla to Podmurvice and technical faculties and the turnaround of line 7, and then over Turnić to Zamet and Srdoči. This line covers and area of garters and Upper Vežica, passes Street Zdravko Kucic and turns on the bridge of St. Ana. Line 103 will cover the area of Skurinje and Drenova.

Inventive group "Kukali" ("Seagulls") from Opatija ended this year Balinjerada in traditional way - by winter swimming and performance "Girl, I'm coming back to you" and re-united sculpture of Zvonko Car with a seagull. Seagull has been missing or stolen for months and they decided that it must be put back in the place. "We want to encourage competent people to do the same - to create a new gull and return it to the symbol of Opatija."

Camellias, the true heralds of spring are beginning to blossom in beautiful Opatija's parks. Our camera captured the first few flowers in a fenced area with the bushes of the Japanese camellia (Camellia japonica), part of the park of Villa Angiolina which is open during the winter and by whom the Opatija's mild climate is widely known.Camellia (Camellia kind) belongs to the family of Teas (Theaceae). The story of tea began 2750 BC when many medicinal properties of plants (Camellia sinensis) were discovered . Legend has it that Emperor Shen nung, known for his wisdom and interest in science, boiled water to drink in the shade of wild camellia trees. Several petals by chance dropped in a pot with hot water, giving it aroma that the emperor liked. Continued experimenting, and many medicinal and refreshing properties of this drink were discovered. Today, Shen Nung is considered 'the father of tea'. Family name is called the great Swedish botanist Karl von Linne, and in honor of George Joseph Kamel, Czech Jesuits and missionaries in the Philippines. Kamel has traveled the entire Southeast Asia and reportedly collected camellia, although today it is doubted that he ever saw the flower.In the nineteenth century Camellia was considered to be the flower of love. The gift of flowers is to express love. Writer Alexander Dumas wrote "Lady with camelia", and famous Italian composer Verdi, was inspired by that book and wrote the well-known opera" La Traviata ".Camellia is one of the cherished symbols of Opatija so let's enjoy together in their bloom.

From February this year, every first Monday of the month for all interested citizens will be organized guided tour of the theater building CNT Ivan pl. Zajc. Sightseeing will start at 5.30 pm.
